Vanguard is a vocal quartet based in central Texas that performs a cappella music in the barbershop harmony style. The men of Vanguard are all good friends who love to sing four-part harmony together but more than anything we just like meeting new friends and making people happy with our music.

John, Tommie, John, and Joel each bring over 20 years of vocal and stage experience to the group. Three members of Vanguard are former champions of the Southwestern District of the Barbershop Harmony Society, winning those championships with previous quartets.

Vanguard is devoted to the art of conversational singing with a unique personal touch. Our goal is to achieve the perfect blend of vocal harmony and theatrical entertainment. You’ll feel the music at a Vanguard performance, and you’ll discover why the foursome has earned standing ovations from barbershop aficionados and beyond.
